This experimental introductory course, team-taught with Faculty Technical Director Michael Cottom, attempted to disrupt the usual disciplinary boundary between scenic design and technical design and fabrication to highlight the synergy between these aspects of creating. Working in Vectorworks students envisioned their own theoretical designs for UMass Theater’s production of “Witch” and also developed technical designs for selected scenic units of the actual production design to which they had contributed ideas.
